Carneval in West - Germany, it starts at the Thursday with Altweiberfastnacht (Old girls night) -the ladies take over the the government and get the cityhall - key from the major, than they are allowed to cut ties of men and kiss every man and do with him what they want. Than over weekend is big party in erery pub and and Monday there are in West - Germany big partys in the the city. On Wednesday (Aschermittwoch) its finished and all the people go to work again. Again I did a trip to Asia, took a cheap Lufthansa - flight booked via LTUR. Flew into Bangkok and went to Chiang Mai, Chiang Kok by Bus. Then on the Mekong river by Speedboat to Luang Prabang, the old Capital of Laos with 68 Temples. Then by Truck and Bus up to Kunming, the Capital of Yunnan (China). I went there via Boten, Mohan, Mengla, Jinghong. Then from Kunming i decided not to go to Hanoi by train s planned, I went direct to Tibet via Dali, Lijang and Zhongdian. Back to Bangkok i took Plane from Kunming via Chiang Mai (stopover for shopping on nightmarket).

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Thailand and Laos. I booked a cheap Flight Last Minute to Bangkok with Condor. Also I used te Loose Guidebook (in German) which is very helpfull. Stayed at Khaosan - Road. I took the VIP-Bus to Chiang Mai and travelled there round about in Northern Thailand mostly by Bus and Motorbike. Favorite Cities are Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
